Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre Community Garden

Welcome to the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre Community Kitchen Garden.

The Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre Garden is located at 34 Oak Avenue in Doveton. Established around seven years ago, this garden welcomes anyone with an interest in gardening.

About
The Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre Community Garden encourages residents without their own garden, or those who want to be part of a community gardening project, to get out and use their green thumb. The garden is open 9.00am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday.

This wheelchair-accessible community garden features communal plots, aquaponics systems (with fish), a BBQ area, benches, sensory paths, ornamental beds and native edibles. Produce grown in the garden is either donated to the Neighbourhood Learning Centre’s food bank service or taken home by community garden volunteers.

Face-to-face gardening workshops will be on offer this coming Spring.

If you would like to grow your own vegetables, fruits, herbs or flowers, and want to get outdoors and interact with like-minded gardeners, the Doveton Community Garden may be for you.

The Centre are inviting expressions of interest from the community to share in the community kitchen garden’s growth and maintenance. Please get in touch with Geraldine on 9791 1449 to get involved.
