Hills Community Gardens

Welcome to the Hills Community Gardens.

This open gated community garden is located at Alma Treloar Reserve, 79 Pakenham Rd in Cockatoo and welcomes all members of the community to come and enjoy the garden.

About
Both individual and communal plots are available onsite for community members ready to try their hand at gardening, or to simply enjoy sharing a team project with other gardeners.

The gardening group meets for a ‘Dig In’ and workshop on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 10.30am. All members of the community are welcome to come along and spend time in the garden and/or swap their own home-grown produce for something just as amazing.

Native and Sensory Gardens are also onsite with an Indigenous garden, pollinator gardens and an orchard and bulb garden. This community garden is also home to the Hills Herbal Collective which shares with the community the world of herbal medicine with their medicinal garden.

Workshops are held on various Sundays throughout the month, covering topics such as Caring for Native or Sensory Gardens, Seed Saving, Cultivating a Community Orchard and Creating a Coiled Basket. The workshops are free of charge, but a booking is required. Community members can RSVP to the upcoming workshops via Facebook or via this link.
