Welcome to Pakenham Community Garden.
This thriving community garden is located at 6B Henry Street in Pakenham and welcomes all members of the public to come and enjoy the garden and all its features.
About
The Pakenham Community Garden is collectively managed and is focused on providing gardening education, inclusion of all community members and sustainability. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come down to the centre and try their hand at gardening. There are many wicking beds (aka self-watering planters), a community compost hub, and a fruit tree orchard. There is also a micro-nursery project that has recently been built to grow herb and vegetable seedlings for schools, farms, community groups and home gardeners.
The garden is open to the public 7 days a week and hosts many gardening events and workshops throughout the year. The Gardening Group meets every Monday morning at the garden from 9am – 12pm to tend the patches and enjoy some quality time in the fresh air.
As part of its 2018 โ 2021 upgrades, the community garden plans to offer a sensory garden space, a world foods garden, raised garden beds suitable for wheelchair users and plenty of shaded areas.
If you are interested in the Pakenham Community Garden or would like any further details, please contact the centre on (03) 5941 2389.
